Highlights:

  • Reviewing what good writers do and beginning to write a short story to assess writing skills.
  • Reviewing addition and subtraction strategies. Practicing these skills with different card games. 
  • Examining botanical paintings and creating our own paintings of plants.
  • Beginning to explore the different parts of a flower and their functions. 


Reminders:

  • Return the folder of forms that were sent home this week.
  • Terry Fox Run on Friday 27 at 10:30am.
  • Swimming forms due Tuesday. We still need a number of volunteers for the 25, 30, 1, 2. We will leave the school at 9:20 am for our 10:00-10:40 lesson, and return to the school around 11:00. If you are able to come for one or more of the following days, please contact me through email or your child's agenda. 
  • Continue to bring in seeds this week/next week.
  • Gully Day next Tuesday, Sept.17.
  • Conference Bookings open today at noon. 
  • Please sign your child's agenda each day to ensure they are showing you our messages from the day.

Just a reminder that we will have a Google Meet with our class at 10:00am today.  How to access Google Meet was sent through email to you.  Two ways you can access are: 1. Through a link I will post on here and in my Google Classroom  2. Seeds for Science

Hello parents! If you are outside this weekend/week with your child, please look for seeds to bring in to class next week. Students can look for seeds in the wild or in their yards. We are looking for a wide variety of seeds, so they can also bring in seeds from fruit/vegetables in the kitchen or from seed packets. Please label the seeds in a bag, if you know what type of seeds they are. We will collect the seeds all next week to use during science for our Plant unit this month. Thank-you for your help!

Hello Parents and Students, We hope you are well and have had a relaxing spring break.   For the foreseeable future, together we are traveling into the world of online learning.  We thank you for your ongoing patience as we navigate this new journey and continue to take up the Alberta Program of Studies.  We will be providing learning opportunities & activities soon. Your child’s homeroom teacher will connect with you to discuss your child’s access to technology at home, including access to a computer and the internet.  Teachers will email students/parents or by phone call. We are also making a plan to address the needs of students without these resources and to determine how to support students with paper packages. Teachers will also ask you how you and your family are doing and encourage you to connect with wellness supports and resources available within and beyond the CBE.
