Materials Needed

Happy Wednesday everyone! Our class will be starting an art project next week and we are in need of a few items. Anything you are able to contribute would be greatly appreciated. -Yarn (Any color, except brown and black) -Cardboard that can be easily cut into different shapes -Glue sticks for hot glue gun Thanks for your help with this.

Highlights: -Continuing to write entertaining story beginnings. Students wrote a beginning using a Literacy Shed video. -Students explored different First Nations oral stories and created a video to share what they learned. We will begin looking at pictographs and Writing on Stone next week. -Students are continuing to work in their book club groups. They are completing summaries on what they have read, discussing the setting and recording words they don't know and finding the definition. -Discussing the difference between natural and artificial light and chose a type of light source to research next week. -Completed a whole school word problem using the question "How many beads do you think you could fit in your hand?" Reminders: -Spelling test tomorrow -Light and Shadow in-class field trip tomorrow from 12:50-3:15. Thank you to the parents who will be volunteering. -Sharing assembly on January 24 -Lacrosse Residency from January 27 - 30 -Drumming Residency from February 3 - 7 -We will be going on a walking field trip to "Good Companions 50 Plus Club" on February 10 from 1:00-3:00 to visit with the seniors, enjoy a snack and do a small presentation. This is to engage further in our inquiry question of "Belonging" by reaching out and getting to know o=people who live in our community. We will need 3 parent volunteers for this trip.
