Highlights:
  • Finishing our Alberta mural.
  • Introducing our STEM challenge. Each student has chosen one method of seed dispersal and will build a model of it next week. Students are encouraged to bring in recyclables that could be used for their model.
  • Continuing to examine and revise skeleton sentences. We also worked on "show not tell" when writing about emotions. For example, instead of writing, "she was happy," we discussed how we could describe how she looked and acted instead.
  • Focusing on identifying long and short vowels during spelling.
  • Practicing cursive writing
  • Explored numbers further by completing a Place Value Park and played a game called "The Last Number Standing".

Reminders:

  • Continue to read every night and practice addition and subtraction facts at home.
  • If you are able to donate a small pumpkin (the tiny decorative ones are fine) for art next week, please let me know!
  • No school on Monday.
